Punjab Government has been providing grant-in-aid to Centre for Research in Rural and Industrial Development (CRRID) on matching basis with Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) and annual maintenance grant to Institute for Development & Communication (IDC) with the condition that these institutions undertake at least five Studies/Research Projects/Survey Reports/Analytical Report annually. The studies are proposed by the Administrative Department. For 2024-25, 4 studies have been entrusted to IDC & 1 to CRRID.

The grant is released to both the Institutes in instalments. During 2024-25 Rs. 1.00 Cr has been released to IDC. Rs. 263.55 lac has been released to CRRID, out of which Rs. 199.32 lac pertains to Court Case, Rs. 30 lac is the backlog of previous year and Rs. 34.23 lac is matching grant with ICSSR for 2024-25. Matching grant of Rs. 36.45 lac is yet to be released by Planning Department.
